SOL SISTA Butta Block Mineral Tinted SPF50+ Review

The SOL SISTA Butta Block has genuinely changed my morning routine. I've been searching for a tinted sunscreen that doesn't feel like sunscreen — something that gives me a bit of coverage, protects my skin, and doesn't leave that chalky white cast that so many mineral sunscreens are guilty of. This one delivers on all fronts.

First Impressions

The packaging is compact and travel-friendly at 30ml. When I first squeezed it out, the texture surprised me — it's genuinely buttery and creamy, not at all like a typical sunscreen. The tint blends beautifully and adapts to your skin tone rather than sitting on top of it. I tested the Sand shade which works perfectly for my fair-to-light complexion.

Application and Wear

It applies like a dream. I use my fingers to warm it up slightly and then press it into my skin. Within about 30 seconds it melts in completely and leaves this gorgeous glowy-matte finish — radiant but not shiny. I've been wearing it alone on casual days and under light makeup for work, and it performs beautifully both ways. The coverage is enough to even out my skin tone and blur minor imperfections without looking like I'm wearing foundation.

Sun Protection

With SPF50+ and 4 hours of water resistance, the sun protection credentials are serious. It's TGA listed in Australia which gives me confidence in the SPF claims. The mineral formula uses zinc oxide as the active ingredient, so it's reef-safe and sits on top of the skin as a physical barrier rather than being absorbed.

The Ingredients

What really impressed me is the ingredient list — only 14 ingredients total. That's almost unheard of for a tinted SPF. Kakadu Plum provides a massive antioxidant boost (it has the world's highest concentration of Vitamin C), while Olive Squalene and Jojoba Oil keep the skin nourished and hydrated throughout the day. No synthetic fragrances, no parabens, no silicones.
